Deployed experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), who have been in China for the past month to investigate the origin of the coronavirus, will speak to the media on Tuesday.

“The international group working to investigate the origin of the covid-19 virus is wrapping up its four-week stay in Wuhan, China, and will attend a press conference with its Chinese counterparts,” WHO reported.

The 13 experts arrived in Wuhan on January 14, after months of negotiations between the WHO and Beijing. After a two-week quarantine, they began their investigation in late January.

The experts, among other things, met with researchers and made several field visits to Wuhan, including the Huanan market, where wild animals were sold for food and where Covid-19 is believed to have been transmitted from bats. The group has also visited the laboratory in Wuhan, which the United States has previously identified as a possible site for the origin of the coronavirus.
