A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, reports Helsingborgs Dagblad (HD). The police do not want to say how the detainee reacts to suspicions.

During the early morning, interrogations had been carried out with about 30 people. Police have also made many seizures, but it was not yet clear whether a shooting has occurred.

– We have made findings that lead the suspects in that direction, but we have not yet established it, says Jörgen Winberg, to HD.

Individuals called the police shortly before 8.30 pm because they had shot in the Söder district, where between 10 and 20 people were said to be involved in a riot. According to the newspaper, the dispute arose near a clubhouse.

Five wounded were taken to hospital with stab or cut wounds, one of whom possibly also had a gunshot wound, police report on their website. These are serious and minor injuries.

– There is no one who at the moment, that I know of, is between life and death, tells HD Jörgen Winberg, internal police officer.

The hospital emergency department is cordoned off.

“It is to ensure that staff can work in peace and quiet without being disturbed by strangers,” police spokeswoman Evelina Olsson told TT overnight.

A large police operation has been carried out with helicopters and dogs, as well as technicians and the usual collection of witnesses.

An accident between two cars occurred nearby at the time of the outbreak of violence.

– We believe that there is a connection between the events, Evelina Olsson tells TT.
