The Swedish Public Health Agency (FHM) wants a requirement for a negative covid-19 test to enter Sweden.

A petition was sent to the Ministry of Justice, writes the authority on its website.

“The situation is changing extremely fast in the rest of the world and different virus variants can be found in more countries than we know of. Therefore, the Public Health Agency believes that it is important to implement the new restrictions,” says the Director General. Johan Carlson in a press release.

The government has just received a request from FHM, according to Mikael Damberg’s press secretary. The matter “will be handled urgently within the Government Offices”, it is said.

In order for foreign citizens to travel to Sweden, the FHM requests that requirements be introduced to present a negative test with a maximum of 48 hours of antiquity.

Swedish citizens who have not been examined before departure must do so on the same day as their return to Sweden.
