Gretas attack mot Joe Biden

The newly elected president is expected to prioritize climate as no other president has before him.

Already on his first day in the White House, Joe Biden led the United States to the Paris Agreement. The president proposes that the long-term goal is for the country to reach zero emissions by the middle of the turn of the century.

But just days after his leadership, climate activist Greta Thunberg has given Biden a kick:

“While we appreciate the beautiful speeches and promises, we prefer action.”, he writes on his Twitter.

Purpose of the offer: Ban drilling

The reason is that Joe Biden has issued more than 30 new drilling permits, according to the Rigzone.com website, even though his climate goal is to ban all permits to drill on state land.

At first, Biden’s words raised great concern for the oil industry, but according to Rigzone, there are still no signs that the ban is about to be implemented.

Greta Thunberg spoke earlier this week about Biden’s climate goals.

“Time will tell if Biden keeps his promises on climate change,” Thunberg told the US news channel MSNBC.
