– What will be a problem is that it takes time to implement this, it is quite complex legislation and requires a lot of IT development, says Alexandra Wallin, head of department at the Swedish Social Security Agency.

The introduction of an additional week of parental leave per year was one of the electoral promises of the Social Democrats. Social Security Minister Ardalan Shekarabi says the government will now analyze all responses to the inquiries and hold a dialogue with the Swedish Social Security Agency on how implementation can be carried out.
