The father of young children, now in custody, is suspected of aggravated rape and aggravated sexual harassment.
In the Free Church, where the man is a member, people are shocked by the accusations.

On Monday, the alleged father of young children in their 30s was arrested for probable cause on suspicion of aggravated rape and aggravated sexual harassment.
The man has admitted the crimes in police questioning and his defender stated during the arrest hearing that the man is willing to cooperate in the police investigation.
– My client admits these acts, thinks it is good that he is now with the police and that these things are investigated properly, says the man’s lawyer, Hanna Lindblom.
The Church: extremely tragic
As Aftonbladet previously reported, the man has been a member of a free church for several years, where he previously had a prominent role and led devotionals and prayer times.
A church official confirms that he is aware of the suspicions against the man.
– I found out last night. It is extremely shocking and tragic, especially for affected women who have been exposed. This whole situation really came as a surprise to me and others in the church.
– This is not acceptable behavior and it is important that the legal system now get its way but it must also take responsibility for this.

Remain a member
The rep confirms that the man is still a member, but says he hasn’t been very active in recent years.
– Previously I have had a very positive image of him, and I remember him as positive and responsible. The disappointment and sadness over what happened is really great, both for me and for others in the church.

“Nothing to apologize for”
When asked if the man will still be able to be a member, the representative says that it is not his decision, but that he finds it very hard to believe.
– This is absolutely incompatible with what we defend or with Christian doctrine. There is nothing to excuse or accept such behavior, and I fully understand that there are expectations of a person who is not only a member of a Christian congregation, but also stands in a pulpit and preaches on high morals.
