The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends the travel advice outside the EU until April 15

The advice for unnecessary travel now applies until April 15 outside the EU, EEA and the Schengen area. This means that both the sports holidays and Easter are within the deterrence period, Ann Linde says at a news conference Tuesday morning.

The prolongation is due in part to the various mutations in the virus that have been detected.

– They contribute in such a way that it is a much more serious situation that can arise very quickly. We have seen in other countries that it has gone very fast when a mutation was discovered, that it was closed and it has affected people on the ground, says Ann Linde.

“The situation of uncertainty will persist”

Ann Linde explains that deterrence does not apply in Europe as it is easier to get home from there.

– At present, it is not possible to predict when it will be possible to travel safely, says Ann Linde.

– The situation of uncertainty will persist in the coming months.

But Linde does not consider it safe to travel within the EU.

If you do such an assessment, I think you should consider it carefully. the situation now is not such that I have to travel. We make the general assessment that you can get home within the EU. You will not receive any help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs if you get stuck somewhere, that stage is over.

As this is a deterrent, travel is not prohibited. But there is no decision on how relevant quarantine may be for those who choose to break deterrence.

– We don’t have quarantine regulations yet. But on the other hand, those who have been to the UK and Norway, the Public Health Agency urges them to self-quarantine at home and get tested.
