High school students can return to school. At least in part.

That message came in at the government press conference Thursday morning.

– The closure of upper secondary schools has an impact on the schooling, safety and future of this generation, says Anna Ekstöm (S), Minister of Education.

Several regions of the country are now experiencing a cautious decrease in the spread of the infection. And despite the ministers pressing for the situation to remain serious, the government is now opting to ease several of the restrictions that affect children and young people.

High school students, who have had to have distance education, are now able to return to classrooms on site to some extent. From now on, it will be a combination of distance and face-to-face teaching, announced Anna Ekström (S), Minister of Education.

– It is an intervention measure. Having closed upper secondary schools is important for the education, safety and future of this generation, says Anna Ekström.

Certain steps that require students to be in place must be able to be completed, for example. It must also be decided at the regional level, depending on the situation in the crown, to what extent upper secondary schools should be closed or may allow on-site studies.

– In this situation, it is better for the regional situation to decide whether to have full or partial distance education. It should also be noted that practical steps can be taken. In some areas, it may be necessary to shut down completely if the regional situation requires it, he says.

During Thursday's press conference, several changes were introduced to Sweden's coronary restrictions. Education Minister Anna Ekström (S) was on the link and announced that upper secondary education should be able to be delivered more on site.

During Thursday’s press conference, several changes were introduced to Sweden’s coronary restrictions. Education Minister Anna Ekström (S) was on the link and announced that upper secondary education should be able to be delivered more on site.

The new announcement is valid until April 1.

And there was also good news for children up to 15 years old, that is, those born no earlier than 2005. They should be allowed to return to their leisure, cultural and sports activities both outdoors and indoors.

– We want children’s activities to go as far as possible. Anyone who has seen a child go home sweaty after a workout knows how much it means. It is important that leisure and cultural activities are open, both indoors and outdoors when others close, says Amanda Lind (MP), Minister of Culture and Sports, who called on public actors to resume their activities for children .

However, they must be infection-proof, emphasized Johan Carlson, Director General of the Swedish Public Health Agency.
