The leader’s rebellion will be crushed in a first show of force.
Then Donald Trump will help his loyal supporters to key positions in the Senate.
In that way, the president can retain influence over the party and the country.
– Everyone has primary elections, he said about opponents within the Republicans according to the Washington Post.
Donald Trump has yet to leave the White House, but the battle for the future of the Republicans has already begun.
One faction of the party, led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, appears to want nothing more than to remove the president’s power over policy and leadership.
In the White House, the mood has been, to say the least, bleak with an increasingly isolated president who is said to be angry at everything and everyone. Several ministers and other close associates have submitted their resignations after the attack on the Capitol. An incident that began after repeated accusations of electoral fraud.
Those who are still at work are said to think that Donald Trump’s actions in connection with the storm were too disgusting to be able to come out and defend in public.
But the president’s activists are preparing for battle and have much of the electorate with them. Trump remains extremely popular with many.
Start by getting rid of Cheney
Already in the near future, they expect several important deals that may have great significance for the way forward for Republicans, writes the New York Times.
A first step is trying to get Liz Cheney, a member of Wyoming, fired from her leadership position in the House of Representatives. As third in rank for the party group, her decision to vote yes in the Supreme Court vote for president was considered particularly serious.
A group of Trump loyalists have submitted a collection of names to arrive at an additional meeting where they will vote on their position in the party.
According to the appeal, Cheney’s statements and actions “are not in line with the Republican majority in the House of Representatives and have sparked discord and discord in the group.”
Wyoming Republicans say they have been looked down upon by voters who are furious at their decision. President Trump is said to have spoken about his dislike for Cheney with his advisers and is smiling at the storm of hatred that has hit her, writes the New York Times.
– They all have primary elections, Trump is said to have said about the ten members who went against employees of his own party, according to the Washington Post.
If the attempt to get rid of it is successful, it is a show of force that sends a strong signal to voters and donors that it is the toughest and most militant faction that is in control of the party, the newspaper writes.

Be loyal in the Senate
Tom Rice, a member of South Carolina, also voted in federal court.
“You can’t vote against Trump in South Carolina,” Trump said of himself in the third person, according to the Washington Post.
Some aides say they have tried to explain to the president that they and many other members of the House of Representatives are angered by the attack and feared for their lives, but Trump has primarily spoken of his popularity with voters in the rogue district and has not shown no remorse, according to the newspaper.
At the same time, state battles are taking place in Georgia and Arizona, where governors are deemed not to have done enough to back the president in fighting the election result. They can expect to be challenged by people loyal to Donald Trump in the upcoming primary election.
Republican leaders are said to be concerned about members of the House of Representatives who have been most prominent in supporting the president’s attacks on cheating and who voted to challenge the election result.
The risk is believed to be that several of them will run in the Senate and Governor elections, further increasing their influence and, by extension, Donald Trump’s over the party and the country.

Among those closely monitored are Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia, trained by Qanon, Lauren Boebert from Colorado and Andy Biggs from Arizona. They all come from states that have senatorial and governor elections in 2022.
In South Dakota, Trump loyalists want to topple John Thune, the second Republican in the Senate.
– I suspect that we will see a lot of activity in the coming years towards some of our members, myself included. “We have to play the hand they have assigned us,” Thune told the New York Times.
President Trump has amassed huge sums of money after the election, citing lawsuits that would expose alleged fraud. But a large chunk of the money is free for Donald Trump to use for political action when he leaves the White House. You can hold campaign meetings, travel, retain staff and office.
He has already announced revenge against the representatives of the party who opposed him, a group that increased after the assault on the Capitol and the judicial process.
With all his campaign money and his many loyal supporters, Donald Trump is believed to be a powerful force in the 2022 midterm elections.
“I think he will like being a former president more than a president, because you get a lot of benefits but you avoid all the restrictions,” Christopher Ruddy, a friend of Trump, owner of Newsmax, told the Washington Post.
He already has several senators in the Senate, led by Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley and Lindsey Graham, who put everything on one card to back him up. If some of the most militant members of the House of Representatives succeed in making way for the Senate, it will be more difficult for Mitch McConnell and other critics to keep Trump out of influence.
Waiting for mutual battles
Strategist Scott Reed, allied with Mitch McConnell in previous battles against populists within the party, believes the Republican establishment should capitalize on mutual disagreement within Trump-loyalist factions during the primary election. If the establishment is after a nominated candidate, it has a better chance of success.
– In 2022, we will face a group of Trump supporters and it will take an effort to repel them. Hopefully there will be electoral campaigns with many of his candidates where the influence extends over several, he tells the New York Times.
Top taxpayer William E Oberndorf, who gave Mitch McConnell almost 20 million SEK before the 2020 election, believes it was a Republican mistake not to topple Trump in the previous Supreme Court.
– Now you have a chance to correct the huge mistake and ensure that Donald Trump can never stand in the general election again. Republican taxpayers should carefully study how members vote on this issue, he tells the New York Times.

In general, Republicans are seen as having great potential to retake the Senate or House of Representatives, or both houses, in 2022. The Democratic majority is weak and the opposition party tends to always win in midterm elections.
On Saturday night, Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted a lengthy statement showing that Donald Trump’s influence will endure for a while longer.
She writes, among other things, that the 75 million Americans who peacefully voted for Trump should protest the incoming “left government” and that it is time for America First candidates to occupy high office everywhere.
“Our MAGA movement is not over. As President Trump has said, it has only just begun. “
