Firefighters and homecare workers over 50 in France can now count on being vaccinated against COVID-19 as the country is making some changes to its vaccination priority.
– We will strengthen, accelerate and simplify our vaccination strategy, says French Health Minister Olivier Véran on radio channel RTL.
Criticism is growing in France against the slowness of vaccination, which according to French media reports has made President Emmanuel Macron “furious”. Indignant voices from the opposition are also heard.
– In a week we have vaccinated as many as the Germans vaccinated in half an hour. It’s embarrassing, Jordan Bardella of the National Assembly of the Nationalist Party (formerly Frente Nacional) told RTL on Monday.
France is one of the most vaccine-skeptical countries in the world.
