Ski tour hit by its first crown fall: “We are afraid”

After the start of the hunt in Val Müstair, Switzerland, yesterday afternoon, the entire Tour de ski moved to the Italian Toblach. To be admitted there, all skiers, leaders and journalists had to undergo a test to show that they were not infected by the coronavirus.

And then a first crown drop was discovered during the Ski Tour.

The French newspaper Nordic reports that France’s distance coach Alexandre Rousselet tested positive for covid-19.

– Now I am quarantined at the hotel in Switzerland with my roommate Cyril Burdet (speed coach), says Rousselet.

– Hope this doesn’t affect the runners now. We have told you that you must be fully focused on the competitions that await you in Toblach. We knew this could happen and now we just have to deal with the situation.

Parked next to Sweden

The French team has started the Tour de ski very strong on the men’s side and five of their skiers are among the top eleven of the total: Maurice Manificat (3), Clement Parisse (7), Jean Marc Gaillard (9), Adrien Backscheider (10) and Hugo Lapalus (11).

His wall trailer is parked next to Sweden’s, outside the Toblach ski stadium.

– We have taken all measures to minimize the spread of the infection and I hope I have not infected anyone else … but I can never be completely sure about this coronavirus and I came in contact with people from other nations when I got the number tags in Val Müstair, says Alexander Rousselet.

– It is clear that we are afraid of a snowball effect and this will be kept under surveillance in Toblach.
