The landfill in the municipality of Lund will be a new outdoor area with riding trails and kennels
One million tons of garbage. So much was thrown at old Rögledeponin alongside the popular Skrylle for twenty years. Now the old sins will be forgiven. At the top of the landfill, a new recreation area will be created with 16,000 newly planted plants, walking and horse riding trails, and two large dog kennels. Just in time for summer, work should be done.
The horse riding trails are 1500 meters long. The walking trails will be the same length. “The horse riding trails are specially sized so that you can walk and ride there. The trails are a bit narrower, “says Peter Månsson.
One or two horsemen and walkers have already found the ancient point, located three kilometers from Skryllegården and right next to the Rögle dams. Peter Månsson at the Lund sewage treatment plant and responsible for the conversion stands at the old landfill and follows as the Sydsvenskan photographer flies with drones over the nineteen hectare area, where thirty football pitches could have been accommodated.
