FIFA cancels long suspension of Trippier

The day before Christmas Eve, the English Football Association (FA) came up with a harsh sentence against Kieran Trippier: suspension of all football for ten weeks and a fine equivalent to 775,000 Swedish crowns for violating international betting rules.

The England defender was sentenced, against his own denial, on suspicion of, among other things, transmitting information about his position in football to outsiders.

Tripper seemed to miss 13 games for Atlético de Madrid, but now it seems there will only be two. At least to start. The International Football Association FIFA has announced that the suspension has been suspended pending the outcome of an appeal from the 30-year-old defense club.

Trippier missed out on Wednesday at home against Getafe (1-0), La Liga runners-up, Atlético, and will not play Sunday’s game against Alavés. However, he can return to action next week when Atlético de Madrid have a cup game and a league game.
