A Junior Crowns player has been threatened after the loss to Finland.
According to information from Sportbladet, this is a very serious trampling, and now the Ice Hockey Association is considering informing the police:
– We have started and worked with this through our security department. I think that’s too much, says competition director Olof Östblom.
The junior crowns fell hard yesterday in the quarter-finals against Finland as Roni Hirvoen scored the 3-2 goal with 25 seconds left.
The Swedish players and leaders were devastated after the start.
Both the captain of the national team, Joel Rönnmark, and the captain of the team, Philip Broberg, wept openly in television interviews. It was a very long afternoon and evening at the Edmonton hotel. The Swedish people were also very disappointed.
But sadly, the disappointment got out of hand for one or a few people.
According to information from Sportbladet, one of the players must have been the subject of derogatory comments and direct threats. It will be mainly about comments on social networks, mainly Instagram.
Olof Östblom has also received the information and the Ice Hockey Association takes everything very seriously. The case has been turned over to the security department of the Ice Hockey Association, where Abbe Törsleff is responsible for the work.
– Our security department has already started and is working on it. This is not acceptable, says Östblom.
Current to report to the police
Is it multiplayer?
– Right now he is a player we are looking at extra.
Have you read yourself what threats it should be?
– Just a little fleeting. It’s Abbe and the security department plus the player’s club in question who have the outfit.
How do you feel about it happening?
– As usual when there is this type of threat, it is too cursed. Unacceptable. It doesn’t matter if they are young or old players. We will do what we can to end this
Will the police be informed?
– If it is about threats, then absolutely, says Olof Östblom.
The junior crowns are expected to fly home from Edmonton late at night and land in Sweden at some point tomorrow.
