The youth crowns got off to a dream start in the quarterfinals against Finland.
They led 2-0 after the first period.
This after every class goal from Lucas Raymond and Elmer Söderblom.
Lucas Raymond hadn’t really started with the scorer in the JVM, but in the quarter-finals against Finland he took an immediate step forward, with a class goal.
He teased the Finnish defenders with a good pass, instead taking a shot and finding the hole in the roof of the net behind Kari Piiroinen.
– That’s world class, says expert Rickard Wallin on TV6.

And if the 1-0 goal was good, the 2-0 goal was even better. Elmer Söderblom did exactly the same thing he did against the Czech Republic: he tucked the puck between his legs and shoved it into goal.
– We had scouted a bit earlier and knew that the Finnish slopes are up high, so there was a lot of space, says Söderblom on TV6.
– I don’t even know what to say. It is perfectly executed. I’m very impressed, says Rickard Wallin.
But Finland turned around and won the match 3-2. The decision came with 24 seconds left in the game.
