Hammarby has previously hired Astrit Selmani from Varberg. A deal that became the club’s most expensive ever. The Allsvenskan 2020 points king was bought from the newcomer for approximately seven million crowns and signed a contract for four years. At the same time, it is clear that Hammarby is selling Hjalmar Ekdal, 22, to Djurgården. Mittbacken agrees with Djurgården on the personal parts of his contract and Hammarby also agrees with the 2019 Swedish champions on the transfer fee.

Selling the midfielder next week

Ekdal will be featured as Djurgården’s next new acquisition next week, when he returns from his vacation.

Now Hammarby is about to launch another creditable recruitment. According to information from SportExpressen, Icelandic midfielder Jon Gudni Fjoluson, 31, is in negotiations with the club. Fjoluson came to IFK Norrköping after winning the Swedish Championship gold in 2015 and played in “Beijing” until the summer of 2018 when he joined Krasnodar in Russia. The contract with the Russian club expired this summer and he has played with Norwegian Brann ever since.

May be presented shortly

But now he’s on his way to Hammarby, the parties will agree, so the midfielder is expected to be featured as the club’s next new acquisition in the coming weeks. The 31-year-old has made 18 international appearances for Iceland and was part of the national team until last fall when he played early in the 5-1 loss to Belgium. Fjoluson’s contract with Brann expired at the turn of the year and if Hammarby hires him he will come as boss and the club will not pay any transfer fees for him.
