Norwegian defender Omar Elabdellaoui was involved in a really nasty accident on New Year’s Eve. The former Manchester City player is said to have celebrated the turn of the year at his home when a firecracker allegedly fell into his hand and later injured him in the face.
The 29-year-old was rushed to hospital and examined. There he must have been operated on and there must be some concern for his vision.

On New Year’s Eve, his current club Galatasaray communicated like this in his own. Twitter.
“The injuries to our player’s eyes, who have burns on his face, will disappear after the exams.”
“We will provide a lot of information during development,” wrote the great Turkish club.
Attended in the hospital
Galatasaray sent their own doctors to the hospital and the vice president of the club is said to have visited the Norwegian as well.
On New Years Day, the club went out and met again with the press.
– It’s a sad event. Omar is in a good mood, I have met him in person, says club president Mustafa Cengiz, according to Norwegian VG.

According to VG, a doctor has also spoken and said that the player still has problems with both eyes while the left one is more damaged.
Now Omar Elabdellaoui expects more eye care and burns at the hospital, VG reports.
The 29-year-old has made 49 international appearances for the Norwegian national team and joined Galatasaray from Olympiakos in Greece this summer.
Injuries must not be life threatening.
