Gunnar Skaven has worked in the rescue service for about 15 years. He knows what New Year’s Eve usually looks like with rocket-related incidents.
Fireworks that start fires and young people who use fireworks in a way that you should not. But New Year’s Eve 2020 has been unusually quiet until 11:15 p.m., he says.
– We have only had a few minor incidents. It’s been rocket-related, but it’s only been an event, says Gunnar Skaven.
Among other things, the rescue service had to move to Frölunda after rockets were fired at a construction site.
– It was a thing in Smaragdgatan in Frölunda, a building material that burned a bit. The rockets had caught fire, but we extinguished them in three minutes.
Burned some clothes
I see here that you have also received an alarm from Engedalsgatan in Gårda. According to the alarm, a fire has broken out in the basement of an apartment building.
– Yes, there was some clothes in a dryer that had burned. It was even faster.
For New Years Eve, it’s been quiet in Greater Gothenburg. But according to Gunnar Skaven, it’s around twelve when most of the alarms go off.
– That’s when it comes loose. You can call back at two o’clock for other answers, but you’ve been very quiet so far.
