The Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice have seen each other in the Christmas trade.
Aftonbladet can now reveal that Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson visited a rental ski in Sälen on December 20.
– When I saw it, I felt that I didn’t have to have such a bad conscience to be there, says a witness.
Social Democratic ministers have been heavily criticized for not living the way they teach over Christmas weekend.
Prime Minister Stefan Löfven has repeatedly appeared in the Stockholm trade before Christmas. On the second day, Justice Minister Morgan Johansson is said to have bought “a small appliance” in a Lund shopping center.

Waiting for boots
Aftonbladet can now reveal that Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson visited a rental ski in Sälen on the afternoon of December 20.
– She was waiting for a pair of boots for cross-country skiing, a witness tells Aftonbladet.
December 20 was a Sunday, which often means a “changeover day” when tourists go home and new ones arrive at the ski cabins.
– I called there two hours before to ask if there were many people. Then they said that at that time it was airy and there were not so many people. But it is a day of change when many come in the afternoon to pick up and drop off skis.
– I think it was very strange that she was there, in Sälen. And that it was in a ski rental on a shift day, there were so many mistakes. It could have been better on a Tuesday morning or something like that, when not so many people come, the witness continues.
Public Health Agency: Think
There is no ban on traveling to Sälen or other ski resorts in Sweden. But before the Christmas holidays, the Swedish Public Health Agency wrote that it is “important to think” if the planned trips are really necessary to take:
“The Swedish Public Health Agency recommends that you think about whether a trip is necessary, for example to big cities, to the mountain resort or to a holiday resort where many people are in the same place.”
Aftonbladet has contacted Magdalena Andersson through her press secretary.
“I do not confirm or deny exactly where the Prime Minister is at the moment, for security reasons. What I can say is that the Finance Minister is visiting his daughter who works elsewhere in Sweden. She only spends time with her immediate family. The Minister of Finance always tries to avoid congestion in accordance with the advice of the Public Health Agency and the promptings of the Prime Minister, “writes Adriana Haxhimustafa, press secretary of the Minister of Finance, in a text message to Aftonbladet.
“They are not a hundred”
It was recently reported that around 30 seasonal workers at Skistar were quarantined after a COVID-19 drop among staff.
The person who saw Magdalena Andersson at the ski rental had thought about whether it was so good to visit Sälen at Christmas, given the risk of infection and poor care.
– When you make the decision to go, you feel that there are not a hundred. But if you see the finance minister there, it feels a little good, then maybe I don’t need to feel like it was the worst decision in the world, says the witness.
