The Leeds owner is furious with expert and former national team player Karen Carney.

This after a comment that the corona virus was behind the club’s success.

“Unnecessary and disrespectful,” writes Andrea Radrizzani.

During the broadcast of Leeds’ 5-0 crush against West Bromwich yesterday, they discussed in the Amazon Prime studio promoting Leeds to the Premier League. And expert Karen Carney, 144 internationals for England, was not sure whether the club’s 16-year wait would have ended if last season had continued as usual.

– They walked away from all teams, and Leeds should be commended for that. But actually I think they were promoted thanks to covid-19, because it gave them a break. And I’m not sure if they would have gone up without a break, Carney says on the Amazon Prime stream.

Leeds shared a clip of Carney’s statement on Twitter, where they also noted that they won the Championship by ten points. Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United icon with a past in Leeds, believes the club should remove the post as it may cause outbursts.

But instead, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani takes full responsibility for the club’s actions on social media.

“I think that statement is unnecessary and disrespectful to our club, especially because of the fantastic job the players and leaders have done,” wrote Andrea Radrizzani in Twitter.

Leeds midfielder Mateusz Klich also did not appreciate Carney’s comment. And the Pole responded to the club’s post with a vomiting emoji.
