He could be seen donating on his farm or hanging out with his dogs. But no one came to visit him and he rarely interacted with other people.
To his closest neighbor, it seems inconceivable that Anthony Quinn Warner was behind the explosion that literally shook central Tennessee on Christmas morning.
– I must be honest, the way he looked after his dogs gave me the impression that he would never feed a fly. Although some thought it was foam, in my opinion, it was completely harmless, his neighbor told NBC News.
On Christmas morning, Petula Clark played the song “Downtown” from the speakers to a trailer. A police patrol, which was investigating an alleged shooting in the area, also heard a warning message repeatedly played from the caravan.
“If you can hear this message, evacuate now.”
“I never thought I would do something like this”
Seconds later, the caravan exploded. Three people were injured and taken to hospital. Human remains were found at the site, which through DNA analysis could have been linked to Anthony Quinn Warner, 63.
His criminal record reveals nothing more than an arrest for possession of marijuana in 1978, and another drug offense the same year.
Now his neighbor, and perhaps more with him, asks: Why?
– The last few days, of course, I have tried to think about why I felt I needed to do it, but I did not know him well enough to be able to draw conclusions. I never thought I’d do something like this, but that’s probably the kind of world we live in right now, I guess, he tells NBC.
The FBI has also found no reasonable motive.
