The number of patients requiring hospital care for covid-19 in Västra Götaland has continued to rise over the Christmas weekend.
Between December 23 and 28, it has increased by 37 more patients and the region now has more than 500 hospitalized patients.
55 patients are cared for in the intensive care unit.
Over the Christmas weekend, Gothenburg’s Sahlgrenska Hospital received a further large increase in patients, from 203 to 246.
At Södra Älvsborgs Hospital in Borås, the curve goes in the other direction, from 68 patients on Wednesday to 52 on Monday.
NU Healthcare also sees a small reduction in the number of patients, while it has increased in the Väster and Skaraborg hospitals.
The number of patients in hospitals
On December 28 at 10:00, there were a total of 521 hospitalized patients with positive covid-19, of which 55 in the intensive care unit (IVA), in the hospitals of the Västra Götaland region.
NU health: 80 people, of which 7 in VAT
Sahlgrenska University Hospital: 246 people, of which 27 in VAT
Väster hospitals: 74 people, of which 5 in VAT
Skaraborg Hospital: 69 people, of which 9 in VAT
Södra Älvsborgs Sjukhus: 52 people, of which 7 in VAT
