The Swedish Transport Agency is introducing a manual review of incoming UK flights after a British Airways plane violated the flight ban. Svenska Dagbladet reports.
Three hours before departure, an itinerary is informed to air traffic control, with information on the type of flight and if there are passengers on board.
Starting on Saturday, UK travel plans will be reviewed manually.
– This is a very temporary measure and an additional lifesaver, the press director of the Swedish Transport Agency, Mikael Andersson, tells the newspaper.
The London passenger plane landed in Arlanda with 33 passengers on Saturday, despite the flight ban that was introduced on December 21.
– A no-fly violation is one of many. It shouldn’t happen again, Andersson says.
