In a text message to SVT Nyheter, Morgan Johansson confirms that he was at the mall to buy a Christmas present.

In an interview with SVT Nyheter just before Christmas, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven also said that he hoped there would be no sales at noon.
“Of course we can’t have a sale at noon like we usually do. Everyone understands and everyone must take responsibility, ”the Prime Minister said then.
But it has not been possible to legally stop sales before the new pandemic law takes effect next year. One reason is that a mall does not have the legal right to introduce rules that apply to all stores.

Several department stores have introduced a maximum limit for the number of people that can be on the premises at the same time. There are also measures to reduce congestion. In Nova Lund, there are now guards who will make sure that the department stores are not crowded, they have expanded the cleaning and remodeling the part of the restaurant to increase the distance between diners.
Virus researcher Joakim Esbjörnsson-Klemendz, associate professor of virology at Lund University, reacts with surprise to the information.
– As far as I know, a minister and a prime minister are covered by the recommendations of the Public Health Agency. Spontaneously, it feels incredibly inappropriate if it’s not about something that can’t be helped, like a visit to the pharmacy or something like that, he says.
