Zlatan Ibrahimovic highly values his twelve Golden Ball awards.
At least high enough not to trade them for a prize like the best in the world.
– I do not exchange my twelve Ballon d’Or for a Ballon d’Or, says Ibrahimovic in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sports Sport Week magazine, according to TV4’s Fotbollskanalen.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 39, recently won his 12th career Golden Ball.
An award that he, along with the eleven previous awards he has won, values highly.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sports’ Sport Week magazine, quoted by TV4’s Fotbollskanalen, Zlatan talks about how he reasons.
– I do not exchange my twelve Ballon d’Or for one from France Football (Ballon d’Or). Because it shows me continuity. I have seen many who have won the World Cup, the European Championship, the Champions League and also the Ballon d’Or, who have had a fantastic and brilliant year and have since disappeared. But I’ve been in the game for 25 years. All the time above. That’s why I don’t change anything for one thing, because one thing is like a knockout, something lucky. This is not a “stroke of luck”. There is a big difference, says the Milan striker.
In other words, no Ballon d’Or was on Ibrahimovic’s wish list for Christmas Eve.
“I am Santa Claus”
Or yes, I probably didn’t have any wish lists if you want to get it right.
– I never ask for anything for myself. I am santa claus. I bring gifts for my 27 children; two are in Sweden and the other 25 are in Milanello, says Zlatan, probably referring to the game consoles he recently gifted to his teammates.
A team that, as much fun as they were having their Christmas gifts from the Swede, felt good on the football field in the fall.
– This year we received many greetings for what we have achieved and for what we achieved. We have lost very little. I don’t know if it’s my fault, but I’ve done something, something I’ve added to the group. When I arrived in January almost a year ago, Milan was twelve years old, says Ibrahimovic.
