Michael Jackson’s Neverland sold after five years on the market

The Neverland ranch and amusement park, which have been up for sale since 2015, were sold for the equivalent of SEK 180 million. A much lower sum than the seller expected and a Los Angeles real estate agent calls the purchase a “robbery,” despite the property having a special history and outdated furniture.

– It may be similar to a haunted house, but the buyer got the deal at the port, a robbery indeed, realtor Ian Reed tells The Guardian.

Neverland in California was the home and amusement park of pop star Michael Jackson from 1987 to 2005. After a lawsuit against Jackson in 2003 when he was accused of sexually abusing children, he no longer wanted to stay at the ranch. Despite being cleared of all charges, he moved out and Neverland was shut down in 2006.

Michael Jackson died suddenly in 2009 and Neverland went on sale in 2015 for $ 100 million. Now, more than ten years after the star’s death and after the price has dropped several times, American billionaire Ron Burkle has bought the ranch.
