Sandvik in a multi-million dollar deal | Tidning Strömstads

Sandvik’s engineering group has signed an agreement to acquire DSI Underground in 2021, the company states in a press release.

DSI Underground is the world’s leading provider of ground support and rock reinforcement for tunneling and mining operations and has around 2,000 employees in 70 countries. When the deal is completed, the company will be part of the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions business area.

“This business is an important step in our ambition for growth. DSI Underground’s expertise in underground safety and productivity and its geographic reach further strengthens our world leading position in the mining market, ”says Stefan Widing, Sandvik President and CEO, in a comment.

The price amounts to approximately € 943 million, corresponding to SEK 9.5 billion, in cash and without debt. The acquisition is expected to be completed in mid-2021 and requires approval from the relevant authorities.
