Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the best footballers in the world. In January this year, he returned to AC Milan. The 39-year-old has put in an impressive effort which means Milan have only lost three competitive matches in 2020. They also lead Serie A this season and remain undefeated.
But Ibrahimovic has also missed a couple of games. Partly due to covid-19, partly due to a muscle injury that so far he doesn’t want to give up.
The family lives in Sweden
In an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sport, “Ibra” speaks, among other things, of the importance of football for society in general, but also of the impact of the corona pandemic on sport and the lack of families that they live in Sweden.
– In football, we are all the same. It doesn’t matter where you come from. You enter the field, dribble and score goals. Nobody asks you who you are or where you come from. There is no social or geographical difference. It’s a plan, two goals and then we’ll see who scores the most goals. It can be a backyard or the San Siro (Milan stadium). We suffer a lot for the empty stands. Audiences give us energy. But we must continue for them and be positive. We have to trust ourselves.
– Miss them a lot. I can not take it anymore. My wife and children live and go to school in Sweden. I can’t meet them. They are the most important thing to me. In every future decision I make, I consider family first.
“I went on a long adventure”
As a child, Zlatan Ibrahimovic lived in the Rosengård district, Malmö. Even today, he has not forgotten where he came from.
– I’m Ibrahimovic, I’m 39 years old. But I’m still the boy who was born in a Swedish suburb, and who took his backpack and went on a long adventure, says the Milan striker according to Corriere della Sport.
