– It is to ensure that we have an infrastructure for rapid and socially important transportation, says Infrastructure Minister Tomas Eneroth at a digital press conference.
The Swedish Transport Administration is tasked with negotiating and entering into an agreement with several airports to introduce a temporary contingency plan.
Among other things, Kiruna, Lycksele, Mora and Borlänge airports will be more prepared. Along with regular emergency airports, Sweden will have a total of 26 airports on high alert in the coming months. There are already ten.
– We want to make sure that we are better prepared for the challenges we face, says Tomas Eneroth.
The government is also proposing temporary government loans for traffic management at regional non-state airports. 164 million SEK is reserved, announces the minister.
SEK 10 million will also be added so that guard readiness at state emergency preparedness airports can be further sustained.
– So you can have a business for most of the day, says Tomas Eneroth.
