Ontario in Canada is on lockdown due to Saturday’s corona pandemic.
The closure in Canada’s most populous province means no indoor gatherings, other than family members, are allowed. Unnecessary restaurants and businesses are closed. Exceptions are made for, among other things, food collection.
Residents are urged to stay home except for necessary business.
The closure will last 28 days in the south of the province, while restrictions in the sparsely populated north will apply for 14 days.
The provincial capital, Toronto, was blocked about a month ago.
Nearly 160,000 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Ontario. About 4,200 infected people have died.
Ontario has about 14 million residents.
