Tobias Cederberg hopes to celebrate Christmas at his home in Uppsala.

The suitcase is packed and the check-in on the SAS plane to Sweden has already been arranged. Now it only remains to be seen if the flight takes off.

“I want to go home and celebrate Christmas with my family and the New Year with my friends,” says 23-year-old London resident Tobias Cederberg.

Tobias Cederberg hasn’t been home since last summer and, of course, he misses family and friends.

– I’ll go tonight at 7 pm, says Tobias Cederberg.

– Then I would like to see a little of Uppsala, where I come from too.

He has studied for three years in London and has now got a job there amid the pandemic. But now he really wants to go home on the weekends. The news of a possible travel ban is concerning, but he has not heard anything about how it could affect him and his trip.

Registered and ready to go

– I have managed to register anyway. But if there is an entry ban, I don’t know how they handle us with a Swedish passport.

So far he has not heard from his airline.

– It would be nice if you could say something.

If he makes it home, he may need to be quarantined, but authorities have not said anything about it.

– It would not be optimal. I have not known the family since last summer. But it’s better than not coming home.

You also need to get a new passport, you have a reserved time before Christmas.

– I have to fix those things when I’m home.

His girlfriend, who has a Portuguese passport, will also visit during the week. But he doesn’t know what it will be like now.

Strange christmas

If he can’t go, it may be a strange and lonely holiday celebration for her, she thinks.

– Then I would like to go with my girlfriend in Coventry. But London is a level 4 area and Coventry a level 3 area. I don’t know if you can go from level 4 to level 3 now.

He is fine himself and has survived the corona infection so far.

– My girlfriend has had it, but I have succeeded, I have kept my distance. So far, I am in shape.
