Indeed, Valentina would have made her championship debut as an expert during the Senior World Cup this spring.

– Even then I was super tagged, she says.

This time, however, the crown pandemic halted plans when the World Cup was canceled.

Instead, the Karjala Cup national team tournament in November was her debut as an expert in Nent, which includes TV6, TV10 and Viaplay, among others.

– Before the broadcast I was nervous, but when we started I almost forgot that it was on television, she says.

– The feeling was very reminiscent of how it was when I played myself. So you might be nervous before games, but as soon as the puck was released, it was gone.

Seven months after the delayed debut in the championship, now it will finally be eliminated, and the first championship will be JVM. It is Valentina Lizana Wallner who will guide the viewers during the junior WC in ice hockey on the Nentgruppen channels.

Nent shares JVM’s broadcast rights with SVT, and in addition to broadcasting half of Sweden’s matches on TV6, they will also show other teams’ matches on TV10 and Viaplay.

Valentina Lizana Wallner made her breakthrough at the Sochi 2014 Olympics when she played big between the posts.

Just two years later, he decided to end his active career, but kept in close contact with the sport. Among other things, she has been a goalkeeping coach for the Stockholm television record team and the U18 women’s national team.

– In my new position, I think I will benefit from being a player and a coach. It allows me to see things from different angles.

Add to that the fact that Lizana Wallner, who’s studying to be a high school teacher, has a pedagogical way of explaining cause, effect, and connection, making what happens on ice understandable to viewers.

The JVM tournament It will be decided in Edmonton, but Valentina and her colleagues in the studio will broadcast from Stockholm. The time difference between Sweden and Canada means that you have to change the day because most games are played in Swedish night time.

– I have thought about how to solve it in the best way, and I think that a few days before the first game I can try to stay awake a little longer than usual. So maybe you can put it off about half an hour for each day until the premiere, says Valentina Lizana Wallner.
