Donald Trump is intensifying the Christmas fever in the White House ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Donald Trump is probably considered to have used all his might to challenge the election result. The voter fraud lawsuits have been postponed, the Supreme Court has refused to take the case and the Electoral College has formally voted Joe Biden the winner.
The last hope was that Congress would oppose the result when the votes were counted on January 6. This requires that at least one member of the House of Representatives and one member of the Senate jointly protest against an approval in each state. If that happens, Congress will return to the chambers and debate. A vote will then take place.

Some Republican members of the House of Representatives have said they are willing to do just that. But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has asked his Republican colleagues not to continue fighting Joe Biden as the new president.
Now, however, a small ray of light is opening up for Donald Trump when incoming senator and former soccer coach Tommy Tuberville in a video suggests he might consider running.
“You see what’s going on. He has read it in the House of Representatives. We have to do it in the Senate,” she said in a video posted by liberal activist Lauren Windsor.

But for the protests to have any chance of meaning anything to the election result, both houses must vote in favor, which is considered completely unlikely. In the House of Representatives, Democrats have a majority and many Republicans believe that the Senate votes against.

Powell’s return
However, the plans to put sticks in the wheels for Joe Biden at the last second do not end there. On Friday, Donald Trump held a meeting in the Oval Office with a motley gathering of employees and supporters, many American media report.
Among others, the lawyer Sidney Powell, previously fired, who presented startling theories about how a conspiracy with rigged voting machines was controlled from Venezuela and that millions of votes were stolen from Donald Trump.
The president is said to have opened up to give her a high security rating and appoint her as a special voter fraud investigator, to the dismay of other staff, states, among others, New York Time.
According to the newspaper, the meeting will degenerate on several occasions into strong disputes between Sidney Powell and other participants. The president’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, is said to have first appeared on the loudspeaker, but then appeared at the White House.

Questions about the military takeover
Former Donald Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, who was recently pardoned by the president, was also present during the meeting.
During a television interview with Newsmax during the week, he opened up to the introduction of martial law, equivalent to a military emergency, to stop the election result and allow the military to organize a new election.
During the meeting, Donald Trump is said to have asked Michael Flynn about that idea.
According to the New York Times, all employees present, including Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, have opposed Sidney Powell’s ideas on how to proceed with the selection of a special investigator.
They are said to have said during the meeting that all of their statements about electoral fraud are devoid of evidence. And the opening to allow him in an official role to investigate the election result surprised employees, claims the New York Times.
Sidney Powell is said to have accused the others of giving up.
Another point at the White House on Friday was the possibility of using an executive order from the president to seize and investigate the Dominion voting machines that are at the center of the allegations.
According to three New York Times sources, Rudy Giuliani has contacted the Department of Homeland Security to pressure them to take over the machines. Giuliani is said to have received the response that the ministry does not have the legal space to do so.
But Donald Trump continues to rack up accusations from his millions of followers. At midnight on Sunday, he wrote in capital letters that he had been the victim of the largest electoral fraud in United States history. Later on Sunday, he retweeted several people claiming voter fraud with everything from the fact that multiple votes with identical signatures must have passed to the votes being exchanged using USB sticks in Nevada.
