Harald Lückner’s criticism of Modo: points to the rival as a replacement

Modo has had a difficult season in allsvenskan hockey and, after a failed start, new coach Ville Nieminen decided to leave the club.

– I do not feel that the development process has been successful and I do not feel that I have been able to help the team in the way I wanted, Nieminen said after the decision.

Harald Lückner, former Modo coach and now C More expert, believes the club has a lot to work with in the years to come.

– They lost a large part of the season but I still don’t think that Modo has equipment to go up. Now it’s about working on rebuilding a superior team for the future. But also working with the reputation that Modo had built last season, Lückner tells ST.

Lückner wants to see Fredrik Andersson in Modo

Harald Lückner doesn’t believe in Pär Styf as a permanent training solution, but he has another suggestion for a coach name that he wants to see on the Modes booth next season.

– I know a very competent coach who would be a perfect fit. You don’t have to look very far. Only for Bjästa actually. Fredrik Andersson lives there and has proven in Timrå that he is a very competent coach. He has a heart of Modo and is available. “Freddan” is a coach who can meet people on the square, he has an expiring contract in Timrå and is therefore a simple and natural solution, says Lückner.

He also chooses to direct criticism of Modo and the hiring of Ville Nieminen before the season.

– What I did not understand before the season was the hiring of the coach. It’s hard for me to understand why you choose a Finnish coach who can’t speak Swedish when you’ve basically formed a Swedish team, Harald Lückner tells ST.
