Sweden needed to win to have a chance to take home the Channel One Cup. But it was the Czech Republic, which lost the first two games, that was most alert.

Maybe it was because the game started at 11.00 in the morning. Because just like Finland, Sweden had a bad first period against the Czech Republic.

But they still led after the first 20 minutes.

The Czech Republic suffered four expulsions in the first period and during one of them Jonatan Berggren made it 1-0 with a return.

– Of course it was nice to score goals, I don’t usually score goals that often, says SVT forward Skellefteå.

It was a better game for the Swedes in the second half, yet they still came off the ice after three goals on the back. Among other things after an own goal.

– I think we did better, but we do not put the bags and they get shots that face our old men, says Magnus Pääjärvi to SVT.

Lokomotiv The Yaroslavl striker says Tre kronor should play easier and straighter and more often put the puck into goal.

– You could say we were unlucky, but they put the records against the case anyway.

There was no turning back in the third period and the Czech Republic could definitely decide with a 4-1 goal with just under five minutes to play.

Sweden started the Moscow tournament with a penalty loss to Russia, but then beat Finland 4-1.
