The Öberg sisters on the podium at the start of the hunt

Sisters Elvira and Hanna Öberg had a good starting position before the start of Saturday’s hunt, where they started fifth and sixth at two-second intervals.

It was a Swedish-Norwegian battle for podium spots where Sweden ultimately took second and third place.

– I’m very happy, it was a very fun competition and it was close all the time. I felt like I was a bit cautious in the first series. I really wanted to meet each other, then I realized that I shouldn’t do this, says Hanna Öberg.

“Enjoy it”

Five hits from the last shooter standing paved the way for good placement.

– When I got to the last one, I saw that the rest of Elvira’s group were blocked. I enjoyed standing at the shooting range, it was probably the highlight of the day’s race for me, she says.

In the end, she got to see how little sister Elvira Öberg broke Norway’s Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold in the riot and took third place.

– It’s really fun. We still drive a bit together today and we can help each other. Then we can both show our greatest strengths. Me in the last shot and she in her sharp, sickly finish. He really has a gun there.

“Everyone is tired”

Elvira Öberg, who thus achieved her third individual place in the top three in the World Cup this season, was delighted to share the podium with her older sister.

– It’s fun, we’ve trained incredibly together over the years and being able to succeed together makes it even more fun, he says.

Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff kept the favorite print and took home the competition.

Now it’s just a matter of recharging for the massive start on Sunday, which may end the competition in 2020.

– Mass departure is always exciting. It’s a little longer than today and everyone is tired. Now there will be a total focus on recovery, it will be tough competition, says Elvira Öberg.
