There has been speculation about its future and it is now clear.

Coach Jens Gustafsson leaves IFK Norrköping.

– It has been a privilege to be inspired and challenged by all those whose hearts beats for the team, says on the club’s website.

IFK Norrköping had a good start to the Allsvenskan season, but fell back and only finished sixth in the table.

After the season, however, everything but the result has been in focus, as he has really broken into the club.

Most of the leaders have left in protest against the culture.

Now it is also clear that manager Jens Gustafsson will continue his career after five years in Norrköping.

“Thank you all”

On the IFK Norrköping website, he describes the years as unforgettable.

– Thanks to all the players and leaders who worked tirelessly to develop both the team and the organization. I would like to extend a special thanks to all of our fans who have made a great contribution to my best memories of the club. It has been a privilege to be inspired and challenged by all those whose hearts beats for the team and the club and I will always remember them with warmth and joy, he says.

Gustafsson took over the team after the Swedish Championship gold in 2015 and has led IFK Norrköping to several important places in the table. In 2016, the team finished third and in 2018 they finished second.

“Time to finish”

The text on the club’s website reads:

“Both parties agree that the time has come to end the collaboration as part of IFK Norrköping’s ongoing development work with the aim of establishing IFK Norrköping as the best football club in Sweden.”

Patrik Jönsson and Sakarias Mårdh on the board say in a joint statement:

“We have had good conversations with Jens during the process and we are happy to have reached an agreement that we believe is good for both parties. We wish Jens good luck in the future and we thank him for a job well done over the years for IFK Norrköping. ”

It is unknown what Gustafsson will do now.
