Sweden rallied after a penalty shootout loss to Russia on Thursday when they defeated Finland 4-1 at the Channel One Cup in Moscow on Saturday morning.
After an introduction with the Finnish press and a good goalkeeping game from Anders Lindbäck, it was Sweden who took the lead when Oscar Lindberg fought 1-0 in powerplay in the middle of the second period. When Philip Holm hit a diagonal pass to the far post, Oscar Lindberg was able to put his second goal in the open goal to 2-0.
Which then became 3-0 when Jesper Frödén followed up with a high shot to the wrist behind Janne Juvonen, seven minutes into the third period, which punctured the game.

Frödén’s goal capped a fine effort from the “Skellefteå chain” with Andreas Wingerli and Jonatan Berggren.

Finland finally got a hole in Anders Lindbäck in the Swedish goal, then there were three and a half minutes left in the match. They came no closer than 3-1, instead Mario Kempe scored his second point of the day when he made it 4-1 in an empty cage.
Sweden now have four points and still have a chance of winning the tournament, which ends with a meeting with the Czech Republic at 9am on Sunday.
