The popular trotting horse Månprinsen AM is dead, states Svensk Travsport on his website.
The star horse, who won 71 races and raced SEK 9.4 million, turned 13.
“Beloved wonderful horse you no longer exist but you will always live in my heart and soul”writes co-owner Anna Maria Öberg on Facebook.
On June 27 this year, Månprinsen AM started in Bergsåker but galloped with 1,400 meters remaining.
It was the first time in two years that the Moon Prince AM galloped.
– It came unexpectedly, when the horse was feeling well before. I had a feeling that the Prince of the Moon had a little sensation in his right front leg, as it seemed to protect this. People were concerned it might be a hoof fracture, but I don’t think so anymore. From what I can judge at this point, in any case it is not a serious injury, coach and driver Gunnar Melander told Travronden.
“He is alert and happy”
After checking the horse, a reassuring message reached the newspaper.
– The Prince of the Moon is alert and happy and does not show a limp. There is nothing swollen, from what I can tell it can’t be a fork strap injury for example. Like I said, I don’t think he suffered a broken hoof, either, Melander said.
Since then Månprinsen AM has not been seen on the trotting tracks and on the Svensk Travsport website it is recorded that the horse is dead and he arrived until Thursday training with Gunnar Melander.
Beloved wonderful horse you no longer exist but you will always live in my heart and soul. I never loved anyone or anything like you. Now it is only empty and missing. Looking forward to seeing you again on the other side of the rainbow bridge. “ writes co-owner Anna Maria Öberg on Facebook.
Moon Prince AM won 71 races during his career and raced for SEK 9.4 million. Among other things, he won the Swedish Championship in cold blood five times. Moon Prince AM was named Cold Blood of the Year five times at the Horse Gala.
