US budget cut stopped | GP

A temporary state budget expires Friday night US time, and with just a few hours before the deadline, Congress extended the emergency fix for another two days, until December 20.

Subject to President Donald Trump approving the deal, the United States Congress now has until then to agree on a permanent budget for next year, which contains a massive $ 900 billion virus support package.

“I think all parties feel that we are making progress on an important aid package that will last a whole year,” Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said just before the emergency vote passed.

Difficult negotiations on the aid package go on for months. In reality, the nation’s budget should have been approved by October 1, when America’s interrupted fiscal year begins. But then a short-term solution was made, which was replaced by another, which has kept the state apparatus afloat ever since.
