The Swedish ski team has decided to forego the last two World Cup competitions this year in Davos and Dresden due to the prevailing pandemic situation. Instead, the association has organized an observation competition in Östersund ahead of next year’s Ski Tour, where Frida Karlsson excelled in Thursday’s ten-kilometer classic.

The 21-year-old did well even in Friday’s sprint, where she finished third in the final heat. Last year’s top duo in the speed cup, however, couldn’t do anything about it.

Jonna Sundling took a in command of the race, but in the race Linn Svahn entered the race, and last season’s sprint sovereign took a relatively clear victory.

– Jonna has become very strong today, she had full sight to keep up. That he took it at the end is good proof that you keep the race, Svahn tells Sportbladet Play and admits that it was Sundling who had to take the hard work and lead the race.

– But it wasn’t my plan to navigate discreetly. I had to work hard, but it’s still good to be first, says Svahn.

Later in the sleeve, Johanna Hagström drove fourth, followed by fifth Moa Lundgren and sixth Evelina Settlin.

Strong names missing it was Ebba Andersson and Maja Dahlqvist who rested. Anna Dyvik also resigned due to back problems.

The competitions in Östersund end for the ladies with a massive start, 15 free kilometers, on Saturday. Charlotte Kalla is expected to make her long-awaited debut for the season after testing positive for COVID-19 during the fall.

In the men’s sprint, Oskar Svensson was stronger before second Marcus Grate and third Johan Häggström.
