Oscar Wendt opens for IFK Gothenburg: “Closer today”

Mattias Bjärsmyr, Pontus Wernbloom, Robin Söder and Jakob Johansson have already returned to IFK Gothenburg after their years abroad.

The question is what happens to Oscar Wendt.

The 35-year-old left-back, who left Blåvitt in 2006, extended his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach for one year last summer, meaning the German club’s contract expires this summer.

“It is quite open”

– We thrive very well in Germany and always have, but at the same time it is clear that the time we want to spend in Sweden is approaching. I’ve always said that I wanted to play at Blåvitt, says Oscar Wendt in an interview with P4 Skaraborg and continues:

– It seems closer today than a year ago. But at the same time you don’t know what’s going on, it’s football and it’s difficult to plan everything. As it feels right now, it’s 50/50, you could say, it’s pretty open what can happen in the summer.

Will Oscar Wendt be the next blue and white returnee?

– We will see, we will see, he answers cryptically.
