Team Principal Jonas Fransson is forced to leave the team and fly home

There are very strict quarantine rules in Edmonton regarding the JVM. All players and leaders are isolated in a bubble so as not to risk further spread of the infection.

Sweden, lacking their national team captain Tomas Montén due to a positive corona test, have now suffered a severe setback.

Team manager Jonas Fransson is forced to leave the bubble and the country immediately after violating quarantine rules.

“Be very confident”

– The Team Manager violated the tournament quarantine rules when he left the hotel to return to the airport to collect his forgotten luggage. Based on the regulations that are applied, we see no possibility of influencing that decision. He obviously feels sad considering the already limited administrative staff we have in Canada, says Swedish Ice Hockey Association Secretary General Johan Stark in a press release and continues:

– At the same time, I have great confidence in leaders who are in their place and in a good mood. Our focus now is to support the team and we will add additional resources from home to complement the Team Manager role.
