Brynäs – Leksand postponed for crown

Brynäs was expecting a match tonight against Leksand.

But a new covid infection in the squad puts an end to the classic encounter with Leksand.

– It is true that the match has been postponed, says Brynäs sporting director Michael Sundlöv.

Thursday’s game against HV71 is also canceled.

Brynäs is the team that has been hit the hardest by postponed games this fall. Several of Gävlelaget’s opponents have suffered from a crown.

While Skellefteå has played 26 games, Brynäs has only had time for 18.

And last Monday it was Gävlelaget’s turn to get infected with covid-19.

All three matches last week were postponed, but Brynäs was able to start training again on Saturday and took aim at tonight’s games against Leksand. But only a few hours before delivery, Brynäs received a test result that came back positive, and therefore the decision to cancel was made.

“He had met in the locker room”

Leksand got the message just before the players got on the bus to Gävle.

– We had met in the locker room for a meeting. It is what it is. Bored with postponed matches. We can’t put energy into things that we can’t influence, says Leksand captain Patrik Zackrisson.

That the match is canceled is confirmed by Brynäs sports director Michael Sundlöv, who also confirms that there are more cases of corona. It is also clear that Thursday’s game against HV71 will be canceled. It has not yet been decided what will happen to Saturday’s home game against Örebro.

One who shouldn’t have been in the booth tonight was coach Peter Andersson. He contracted corona just over a week ago and was really sick at the end of last week.

– I went home (early last week) and didn’t feel anything. Then I got worse every day. Thursday, Friday and Saturday were the worst days. Terrible headache, body aches, and lack of energy. The advantage of them is when you lose taste and smell … Now I hope it goes in the right direction. Feeling better, Andersson tells Sportbladet.
