Joe Biden delivered victory speeches: accused Donald Trump of attacking democracy

By late Monday night it became clear. Joe Biden is, even when counting the electorate, the future president of the United States. And Kamala Harris will be vice president. During the night, Biden delivered a victory speech, in which he strongly opposed Donald Trump’s attack on the election.

– In this fight for the soul of the United States, democracy won … Now is the time to turn the page. Reach an agreement. To heal, Biden said.

– Nothing, not even a pandemic or abuse of power can put out the fire that is American democracy.

He thanked poll workers for saving democracy

It was a clearly angry “president-elect” who delivered his speech, much less cautious than before. He paid tribute to all the poll workers who volunteered for democracy and were thanked with death threats and persecution. He also spoke about the officials and politicians who resisted pressure from Donald Trump and his campaign, and the threats that followed.

– We owe them a big thank you, our democracy survived thanks to them, said Biden.

In a long list of comments, he also spoke about the legal attempts made by Trump and his allies to overthrow the result.

– They brought dozens and dozens of lawsuits. Each time they were heard, it was established that they had no legal basis.

Texas Lawsuit and Supreme Court Response

This led to Biden’s 17 attorneys general in 17 states who, along with 126 Republican members of the House of Representatives who signed the Texas lawsuit against Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia, overturned the election results.

– It is so extreme that we have never seen anything like it. They refused to respect the will of the people, they refused to respect the rule of law, and they refused to respect our constitution.

– The Supreme Court sent a clear signal to President Trump that he has no intention of participating in this attack on democracy, which is unparalleled. Trump was arrested, whatever path he tried to take. Respect for the will of the people is the heart of our democracy.
