On Sunday night, around a hundred people sat for several hours in a stopped SJ train after a wildlife accident between Nässjö and Alvesta.
– It is one of our high-speed trains between Malmö and Stockholm that has collided with a moose. In the collision, part of the front of the train came loose and landed on the airline, which means there is no electricity at the site, says Lina Edström in the SJ press office.
The accident occurred at 5 pm Only four hours later the passengers got off the train.
– We have walked through the darkness along the track and through the forest where we are waiting for the buses, says passenger Emelie Tollmar.
There is a total stop in rail traffic between Malmö and Stockholm, and it is not foreseen when the error can be remedied.
– Until we have moved our train or the contact line has been repaired, there will be a stop, says Lina Edström.
