Melania Trump will clash with Brigitte Macron

The play “First Ladies” has its starting point in the visit of US President Donald Trump to Paris in 2017 when he was the guest of honor of French President Emmanuel Macron during the celebrations of the country’s national day, but it is the first ladies who are in the middle. The play, written by Irish author Nancy Harris, is described in marketing as a “devilishly fashionable show of force.”

Anna Jullienne plays the character of Sophia based on Melania Trump. She believes that people often underestimate the American First Lady.

– There is more than meets the eye. You are ambitious, have a plan, and think long-term about how you plan to implement it. I often get defensive when it comes to my characters and can justify their flaws and behavior. It’s not really perfect, but who is it? Says Anna Jullienne.

“Brigitte Macron is very smart and well informed”

Jennifer Ward-Lealand will play Helene, based on French first lady Brigitte Macron.

– I love that Brigitte Macron is so smart and knowledgeable. She probably would have done her husband’s job as well as he did, but is instead limited to the role of first lady, says Jennifer Ward-Lealand.

“First Ladies” will premiere in Auckland in February and will then tour theaters across the country.
