The 23-year-old was sentenced in March this year to one year and ten months in prison for a rape at a house in northwest Skåne in 2018.
According to the Helsingborg District Court ruling of April 2019, the man must have met a woman at that time, the two must, according to the ruling, have come into contact through mutual acquaintances. The two had not known each other before, but should have struck up a conversation during the night and, according to the district court’s ruling, they slept together in the same bed during the night.
The 23-year-old is said to have forced the woman to have oral sex during the night, among other things. The man has denied the accusations but was convicted, among other things, due to technical evidence. The district court also writes in its judgment that it found the plaintiff and her version of the incident to be credible.
“In general, there is no reason to question the reliability of the plaintiff’s information,” the court wrote in its ruling.
He did not show up at the institution.
In March this year, the Court of Appeal upheld the district court’s sentence of one year and ten months in prison for rape. The district court writes in its ruling that the crime is serious, but that the 23-year-old receives a slightly lesser prison sentence due to his young age at the time the crimes occurred.
The 23-year-old convict then requested a postponement of serving his prison sentence, a request that was rejected.
When, after the verdict gained legal force and it was time to serve the sentence, the 23-year-old did not show up at the institution on time.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has tried to find the man, but so far the searches have been unsuccessful.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has applied for the man.
The crime will take effect in the summer of 2030.
