Fredrick Federley breaks the silence.
In an interview with Avesta Tidning, she talks about the verdict against her former relative.

Former Center Party leader Fredrick Federley announced this week that he is leaving politics due to the verdict against his former relatives.
Now he tells in an exclusive interview with the messenger of Falu and Avesta Tidning about the time that has elapsed since the crime was discovered for him.

Federley says that on June 14 he realized that his close relatives were in prison.
– As he tells it, it is not disgusting, it has been in someone else’s hands. I can also read a statement made by his psychologist in May. I understand that in all situations, regardless of the nature of the crime, it is compromising for a politician to associate with someone who has a criminal past. Regardless of nature, he says.
– There is an incredible momentum around purity and puritanism among politicians. At the same time, I have always had a home that is open to everything and everyone, and that also means that I have met some people who are more or less broken, he says.
One night in early August, Federley had a long conversation with his relative about his time in prison. Then Federley can read a psychologist’s statement from February.
– Mention crimes of child pornography and sexual crimes against children. This is what is said.
Even today, Federley has not read the verdict.
– I can not do this. Then I break down.

– I didn’t understand the width. Here I should have sought help, but at the same time it is this man who takes care of me then. That exists for me, he says and adds:
– Besides this internal battle between good and evil and the questions about whether one can atone for their crimes or not, I have not yet realized the scope of this. What is in the note that I have seen is not as crude as in reality.
