Skoglöf says that Västra Götaland’s IT department is currently focusing on solving the problem.
So far, the region has been able to stop all incidents, but the attacks are still continuing.
– We stop the attacks and control. Our staff sit, analyze and monitor this around the clock, as it is a continuous attack, says Maria Skoglöf, who is a department manager in the IT department at Västra Götaland.
“A difficult situation”
The region takes what happened seriously and has produced a police report. The IT department also maintains an ongoing dialogue with Säpo. Maria Skoglund cannot go into what it is for the actors behind the attacks, because there is a high level of security in this.
The Västra Götaland region came under a cyberattack last summer when employees were affected by phishing, a total of 35 to 40 email accounts were hijacked.
Maria Skoglöf also cannot say whether it is the same type of cyber attack as then or what type of information the attackers want to access.
– We don’t know what they’re looking for, he says.
How do you see this type of attack happening?
– It’s a difficult situation to be hired. We are taking this seriously and it could have serious consequences.
